Australian author A.M. STUART learned her passion for history from her father and began her writing career half way up a tree in the school playground where she wrote her first (unpublished) historical romance. There have been many published (and multi award nominated) historical romances since then but her first love has always been historical mystery.

Born in Kenya, her family came to Australia when she was ten years old. As an adult she lived in Singapore for a number of years, where the idea for the Harriet Gordon Mysteries first crystallized.
In her life outside writing, she enjoyed a varied career as a lawyer in a wide number of fields including the military (where she held the rank of Major) and as a senior executive in the fire services.
