Angela Pisel

ANGELA PISEL doodled her way through every math and science class in high school, pretending to care about neurons and quadratic equations, biding her time until she could graduate and become the next Dear Abby.  After a discussion with her guidance counselor led her in a more “practical” direction, she decided to attend Washington University in St. Louis where she received a Bachelor’s of Science degree in Occupational Therapy.

Angela has taken a special interest in mentoring women throughout various transitions in their lives. After researching women on death row, she decided to return to her first love and write a novel, A Place I Knew Well (Putnam 2016).  She lives in North Carolina and juggles writing in-between a husband, four children, a cat, and two goldendoodles.
