KAIA ALDERSON writes historical women’s fiction and contemporary romantic comedies. (And sometimes comics too!) A self-proclaimed history geek, she has spent more than one vacation dragging her husband through the woods to find some obscure historical landmark. Her debut women’s fiction novel SOLDIER GIRLS tells the story of the only unit of African-American female soldiers to go overseas during World War 2.

Kaia is a graduate of Spelman College, and an alumna of the Hurston/Wright Foundation, The Second City and Voices of Our Nation (VONA) writing programs.
