Poet and performance artist Candice Iloh’s ADA, a debut novel-in-verse set during freshman year of college at an HBCU, in which a Nigerian-American teen must grapple with her family’s expectations and her own childhood trauma when she begins taking dance classes that cause her to reimagine how she defines herself and what she wants from her future, to Andrew Karre at Dutton Children’s, in a very nice deal, at auction, in a two-book deal, for publication in fall 2020.
