KEVIN DEUTSCH is an award-winning criminal justice writer for Newsday. He previously worked on staff at the New York Daily News, The Miami Herald, The Palm Beach Post and The Riverdale Press. He specializes in coverage of street gangs, drug trafficking and national security.
