Multi award-winning author and winner of Romance Writers of America’s Golden Heart, Lauren Canan’s love of reading and a propensity for telling stories came at an early age.  She credits her dad who regaled her young mind with tales of the old west and Brothers Grim and encouraged her to let her imagination soar. As a young adult, she discovered books of romance and ‘happily ever afters’ and combined with an unrelenting desire to write, she found her nitch.  Her education is from the University of North Texas.

In her spare time Lauren enjoys jamming on the guitar, piano or dulcimer in an acoustic music club and grooming/showing Wire Fox Terriers.  Her first home-bred boy, Nelson, won three Best In Show’s and qualified for the Eukanuba Invitational.  “This breed requires the coat be hand stripped. Some people knit to relax. I pull out hair. At least it isn’t my own. Yet.”
